A cultural and team building activity for an international group

When Exosens, a specialist in aerospace technology, organized an incentive trip in Barcelona for 90 employees and managers from the UK, it sought an activity that combined local culture, networking and teamwork.

The challenge was to offer a truly Barcelona experience, accessible to all participants and to create connections between people from different departments and levels of responsibility.

The solution chosen was a mosaic workshop inspired by the technique of the trencadís of Antoni Gaudí, one of the most representative artistic expressions of Barcelona.

The challenge: creating connections between 90 participants

Numerous groups present a common challenge in corporate events. Not all attendees are known and often traditional activities do not sufficiently favour interaction.

Exosens was looking for a networking activity that allowed participants to collaborate in a natural way, share ideas and enjoy a different experience during their stay in Barcelona.

In addition, it was important that the activity had a strong cultural component, related to the city they visited.

The activity: a trencadís workshop inspired by Gaudí

The workshop was held for two hours in a hotel located next to Plaza Catalunya, a central location and perfectly integrated into the incentive travel program.

After an introduction to the history of Catalan modernism and the technique of trencadís used by Antoni Gaudí, participants began working in teams to design and build a collaborative work.

During the activity, attendees learned how to use the materials, selected colors and shapes, and collaborated to create a unique composition inspired by the company’s identity.

All the necessary material was supplied by Impalaya, including tools, ceramic pieces, protection elements and audiovisual equipment for presentations.

Our team was also responsible for all the logistics, coordination, transportation of materials and facilitation of the English experience.

A tangible result for the company

One of the aspects most valued by the participants was the possibility of creating something with their own hands.

Unlike other team building activities, the workshop produced a physical and permanent result: a collective work that was delivered to the company at the end of the event.

The final creation became a lasting memory of the experience lived in Barcelona and a symbol of collaboration among the participants.

The activity ended with a presentation of the work, a particularly emotional moment that allowed to recognize the contribution of each team and celebrate the joint result.
