This Cookie Policy is published in compliance with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 on Information Society Services and Electronic Commerce (LSSI-CE) and the Guide on the use of cookies of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD).

2. WHAT ARE COOKIES AND WHAT ARE THEY FOR?
Cookies are small information files stored in the user’s browser or device when they visit a website. They allow the website to remember certain actions or preferences and to collect information about browsing.
Their main functions are to make the site work technically, remember the user’s preferences (such as language or their choice about cookies), measure traffic to improve the content and, where applicable, measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns.
On impalaya.com, cookies are grouped into the same three categories shown in the cookie banner: Necessary, Statistics and Marketing. Only necessary cookies are set without consent.
3. TYPES OF COOKIES BY ORIGIN
- First-party cookies: sent to the user’s device from a domain managed by the website owner (impalaya.com). The language cookie and the cookie that stores consent preferences are first-party cookies.
- Third-party cookies: sent from a domain or through a service managed by another entity. This is the case of Google Analytics and, where applicable, Google Ads, services of Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). Although their cookies are set under the impalaya.com domain, the information they collect is processed by Google.
4. TYPES OF COOKIES BY PURPOSE
Necessary (technical)
These are essential for browsing and for the basic operation of the website: displaying it in the chosen language and remembering the user’s decision about cookies. They are exempt from consent under Article 22.2 of the LSSI-CE and are always active.
Statistics (analytics)
Impalaya uses Google Analytics 4 to understand how the website is used and to improve its content. These cookies provide statistical information about:
- The number of users and visits.
- The pages viewed and interaction with the content.
- The length and general characteristics of sessions.
- The approximate geographical location of visitors.
- The browser and device used.
These cookies are only set if the user enables the “Statistics” category in the banner.
Marketing (advertising)
This category covers Google Ads cookies, used to measure the effectiveness of Impalaya’s advertising campaigns and to personalise ads. They are only set if the user enables the “Marketing” category in the banner. Impalaya does not currently run Google Ads campaigns with active tracking on the website, so no cookie of this type is set even if the category is accepted. If this changes, this policy will be updated.
Google Consent Mode
The website uses Google Consent Mode: until the user accepts the “Statistics” or “Marketing” categories, Google Analytics does not set cookies or read identifiers on their device. In that case, Google may receive cookieless technical signals (such as a page visit), which do not identify the user and are only used in aggregate.
5. COOKIES USED AND THEIR DURATION
| Cookie | Category | Origin | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
language | Necessary | First-party | Remember the language chosen to display the website. | 1 year |
impalaya_cookie_consent | Necessary | First-party | Store the user’s choice in the cookie banner. | 180 days |
_ga | Statistics | Third-party (Google Analytics) | Distinguish users for browsing statistics. | 2 years |
_ga_4EFVDZ4CM9 | Statistics | Third-party (Google Analytics) | Maintain the Analytics session state. | 2 years |
The durations shown are the maximum configured. The actual duration may be shorter if the user deletes cookies or if their browser limits their lifetime. The expiry of a cookie is different from the period during which Google Analytics keeps statistical data, which is stated in the Privacy Policy.
Google Search Console, which Impalaya uses to check the website’s position in search results, does not set cookies in visitors’ browsers.
More information on how Google processes data: Google Privacy Policy and cookie usage in Google Analytics.
6. HOW TO ACCEPT, REJECT OR WITHDRAW CONSENT
When you first visit impalaya.com, a cookie banner appears with three options:
- Accept all: enables the “Statistics” and “Marketing” categories.
- Reject all: disables all non-necessary cookies, as easily as accepting them.
- Customise: lets you enable or disable each category separately.
In every case, the choice is confirmed with the “Save my preferences” button. Until the user saves it, no “Statistics” or “Marketing” cookie is set. Rejecting them does not prevent the user from continuing to browse the website.
Changing or withdrawing consent: once a choice has been made, a small button with a cookie icon appears in the bottom-left corner of the screen (“Manage cookies”). Clicking it reopens the preferences panel, where the user can change their choice or withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawing consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing carried out before it.
Deleting or blocking cookies in your browser
Users can also allow, block or delete cookies in their browser settings:
Blocking necessary cookies may affect how the website works. If the user deletes cookies, the banner will appear again on their next visit so they can set their preferences again.
7. DATA PROTECTION AND UPDATES
Where information collected through cookies can identify a person, data protection law applies. Information about the controller, purposes, legal bases, international transfers and how to exercise your rights is available in the Privacy Policy.
Impalaya may amend this Cookie Policy when the tools used, the cookies set or the applicable law change. The current version will always be available on this page with its update date.
For any questions about this policy, users can write to info@impalaya.com.
